Planes

I was beginning to feel we'd entered a time warp where no planes took to the skies unless in an experiment by the Wright Brothers : Will it fly?
A Volcano in Iceland erupts and Britian closes down.
Who'd have thought?
Ok Iceland is just a 2hour flight ( if that as I can't recall but it was pretty quick) from Glasgow.
No planes for 5 days in fact no Airport buses for the 5days didn't see one till yesterday morning and that was a shock seeing the big blue bus heading out of town!
Saw another this morning but nigh on empty.
I saw the press hanging off a bridge I drive under to work at the unearthly hour of 7.15am ( I looked!) big lenses etc but this is because our airport opened at 7am, and the first plane took off at 7.16am! Oh the excitement a plane in the sky!!
Actually the novelty wore off a bit today, I've seen more than one now.

Watching the news, some folk REALLY ticked me off.
Ok, maybe over reaction in shutting the air space down but, if BA or who have you allowed you on their plane and off you went into an Ash Cloud and plane plunged downward and even if it could re start its engines ( This has been done by a BA pilot 2o years ago as he flew into a cloud over Africa!) and you got bumped and bruised etc would you not be on the news screaming that BA / NATS shouldn't have allowed you to fly?

Ok Government and that misnamed man Lord Adnois made bad judgement calls.
Things should have been put into force straight away.
Also they should have sat on the ferry companies and Eurostar and said DON'T put your prices up but they didn't. They were too busy smarting from the gubbing they got on the  TV Debate.
Now folk are coming home, ok for those staying with friends/ family but those on flight only deals must be thinking more expense and how many didn't have insurance?
My daughter has travelled a lot without insurance despite my nagging.
One thing I've always done was buy a decent insurance and if its not used GOOD.
In fact I usually by a year one as it covers every where I go on small jaunts to the bigger ones. But this year its not been used to its money's worth!

I saw one irrate woman ranting to the Embassy staff in Madrid airport and then saying to him Oh you are no use! HE WAS TRYING! Let's see you try in his position!
Its when nothing is happening then get narked and not at someone trying to help!
So this wee fracas has shown the best and worst of folk.

I'd rather know it was safe to fly than go off and have an accident.
