Eurovision

OK I admit I am one of the saddos that watch Eurovision without fail.
Every year for as long as I can recall.
Seriously.
When small & in Spain, Ex pats would gather round small TVs & watch, cheer on old blighty etc and a small party would en sue.
Spanish TV in the 1960s was pants so once a year it was a good night and in those dark days of old, it was good. In fact we took it seriously!
So what the hell happened?
When did the whole thing become a joke?
OK I do like to sit and listen to the banter now with Graham Norton and bitch with the best, but why did we have a song that came last ?
Well, it was a tad fire up the quattro its back to the 1980s, sorry Pete you wrote great songs but they are out of date now!
OK some other countries do make fun with their songs but, we just haven't bothered since Katrina and the Waves!
At least a Western Bloc country won last night, nowt against Eastern bloc but they do vote for each other and its a major victory if someone wins that isn't part of the old Soviet pack lot!
Maybe next year UK should borrow My Lovely Horse from Father Ted, as we'd probably get more votes!
