care packages

The Council decided that we need a care package, so mother can be kept at home, all kind and dandy but its not working!
Its more stressful some times!
Also in the 1st week we had 4 people and that's useless!
Anyway, today our normal girl, had a day off why, don't know as she's just done 1 day this week. So that meant her job share person wasn't around as she's on her 4 days off part of the week.  So we were told someone new.
At 8.40 decided better feed mother, then assumed they'd be late but no, someone appeared at 5.30PM. They didn't do anything, just came in to make sure she's OK!
Didn't look at her nothing, just asked and ran back out the door again.
Now if she was in a house on her own, waiting for someone to come get her up and washed and fed she'd have been left on her own unable to cook/ get a cuppa etc.
And what happens if they hadn't bothered at all?
No wonder you hear of stories of oldies being found after they've fallen etc, as probably waiting for a daft system that doesn't work and then decided to try themselves.
Age doesn't come with dignity when you can't do anything yourself.
As it is she's had a bath, and now eating her dinner, with a cuppa, and was fed this morning and at lunchtime, so she's a lot luckier than most.
Scary thoughts.
