Ok, today, as my last few Thursdays has consisted of me heading to the gym, doing some shopping then heading out to the Royal Dick Vet with the fluff meister. She needs to get B12 injections as she's getting isotope treatment soon.
En route had radio 2 on and Jeremy Vine's show on, much to the fluffs disgust ( hey it stopped her meowing!) I got my self to the point I was yelling at the radio, like they could hear me!
What got me narked?
Well, someone from some peace organization, anti war et al stated we cannot support the troops as it means we support the government! Is he having a laugh?
Our boys in the forces are paid probably less than him, they are paid peanuts, have crap living conditions out there and you should see some of the barracks here! They aren't
Palaces! t
They didn't ask to go and fight, and give their lives and on the day 6 soldiers where named as they where killed out in Afganistan I found this all deeply offensive.
My late Uncle fought in WW2, he didn't want to fight the enemy, he survived Dunkirk, Burma, Palestine, India etc though him and I argued about war I didn't ever not support the old soldiers I had the pleasure in meeting at events I was literally dragged to.
My heart is in my mouth when I know old family friends are out in war areas,in fact we lost someone at the very beginning in Baghdad, never got over that funeral.
I firmly believe that our forces need supporting and wish these people would understand that yes war is hellish and wrong but we cannot condem the forces, and I don't support the government!
On a lighter note, en route back, watched someone dressed very fashionably staggered along the pavement, no they weren't drunk, they where wearing impossible high platforms, where they young and trendy ? Hell no, she looked mid to late 50s maybe 60s, and couldn't stand up right in the shoes and I hope her walk wasn't that long! It looked comic and very silly. And the bitch in me thought, oh come one woman dress age appropriate , then I remembered I've a sister just like that, oops!
